Akumal means “Place of the Turtle” in the Mayan language, and if you snorkel here, you just might see one swimming alongside you. (Don’t touch it, though. That’s prohibited by law.)

Last time when we went there, we walked the shore line between Grand Sirenis Resort to Akumal. Absolutely breathtaking views of the ocean and the rocks along the way. It was a long walk under the sun, but we did manage to snorkel couple of times along the way. Found some really neat spot that we will definitely go back to.

It’s too easy to find beautiful places in Akumal.
